Brenda Hopkins
Brenda, like so many others, has transplanted to Arizona from the colder areas of the nation. She has lived in Massachusetts, and also Michigan, where she attended Brighton High School. Once she found Arizona, she and her husband Ric, were captivated by the friendly people, the weather, and of course, the awesome scenery all around this beautiful state.
Ric and Brenda have been married since 1995; have six children between them, who have blessed them with 13 grandchildren. They also have other family members that mean a lot to them, their dogs, the adorable Dakota and Dippy. Now that the human children are out of the house, Brenda tends to gladly spoil these furry children.
Keeping busy is the norm for Brenda and her past endeavors include: Past Secretary of Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG), Past Lady of Harley Officer for Chandler HOG Chapter, and she has participated in their Homeowners Association. She enjoys arts and crafts, home decorating and she and her husband are in the throws of a total remodel of their home.
Brenda is driven to work wholeheartedly for her clients whether they are buying or selling. Her motto is, “Never give up.” Now that sounds like a determined person; the kind of person needed to get the job done in this challenging world of real estate. After working diligently for 20 years as an administrative assistant, Brenda is organized, professional, and has the stick-to-it attitude that can carry you through any real estate transaction.
Please give Brenda a call and give her the chance to show you how she will, “Never give up!”

Carol Kingman
The East coast was home to Carol and her family until 1990 when they moved to Arizona from the Boston area. You can still hear a hint of that Boston accent if you listen close. Carol and her husband Bob are parents to four grown children and two adorable grandchildren.
After graduating from Arlington High School, Carol enrolled in Lasell College of Nursing and received her Associates Degree. As a nurse, Carol worked in a variety of medical settings. One of her favorite areas was OB/GYN. She also worked in Pediatrics, Audiology, as a Hearing Specialist, and as a School Nurse in the Apache Junction School District.
In 1999, Carol obtained her Real Estate license and began working with her husband Bob as a team. Bob eventually semi-retired and Carol continued on. She joined Weichert, Realtors- Lake Realty and after several years as a successful agent, Carol obtained her Broker’s license and became a Sales Manager within the company.
Carol spends her limited free time reading, working in her yard, or enjoying this warm Arizona weather. She loves animals and one way to spend time with them and let her nurturing side out is by pet sitting. Carol’s pet sitting is a welcomed diversion after a hectic day.
Her caring nature, dedication to her clients, and knowledge of real estate has made her a valued asset to her clients and the company. Carol will make you feel like you’ve known her forever and she truly cares about your needs.
“I pride myself in providing the best customer service possible. I listen to the client,” says Carol. Don’t miss the opportunity to work with Carol. You will not be disappointed.

Carol Ahl
When we think of Minnesota or Wisconsin we think…cold. But Carolyn Ahl thinks…home. She grew up in Minnesota, played violin in her high school orchestra, played softball and ice skated every chance she got. While still in high school she began working for Northwestern Bell and continued working in the Bell system for years. She married in 1963, had two children, Cathy and Erik, but was widowed in 1971. She met and married Roger Ahl in 1974 and they have been happily together for 35 years.
Roger and Carolyn spend part of their time in the cool country of Chaska, Minnesota and six months in our beautiful Gold Canyon. While not working at real estate, Carolyn spends time in the arts. She has taken numerous classes in sculpting where she has learned to make molds, cast bronze, weld and patina bronzes. Carolyn loves this artform and says, “I spent a week at the Bryce Thompson Arboretum and took stone sculpture classes from some Zimbabwe artists.” She also heads to Scottsdale on a weekly basis when she’s here to take acrylic painting classes. You can also find her with her reading a good book and says she loves to read all types of literature.
One of Carolyn’s many great qualities is her patience which goes right along with her caretaking personality. She genuinely likes people and she has a way of understanding and communicating with people that endures them to her.
“My guiding philosophy is to help people navigate through the real estate system with honesty and integrity.” Let Carolyn be your navigator in your next real estate transaction. She’ll show you the way.

Erma Gilchrist
Not many people can say they are Arizona natives but Erma can wear that banner proudly. She was born and raised in Az on a family farm in Chandler. The farm life provides the awesome opportunity to have horses, and Erma grew up riding and participating in barrel racing.
After graduating from her hometown high school, Chandler High, Erma married Gary and moved on to another rural area, Queen Creek. They eventually moved a little closer to Florence, where they still reside. She has three amazing children who keep active by participating in sports, singing, and playing musical instruments.
Of course a farm girl who is used to spending her days in the outdoors would love to go camping and Erma does just that. She and her family enjoy free time together hunting, camping and fishing.
Growing up, Erma’s family owned a western wear store where she learned some valuable lessons about customer service. Erma says, “ I learned early on that customer service was important to all aspects of business.” She carries that philosophy with her into the world of real estate. Erma has had her real estate license since 2004 and is now working full time serving the East Valley.
Treating people with kindness and respect is Erma’s trademark. She is not afraid to profess that she lives her life by observing the Golden Rule. Her faith is in first place in her life and then family and career. This makes Erma an honest, dependable and trustworthy agent who will respect your needs and concerns.

Jeannie Dexter
Following in the footsteps of her grandparents, uncle and father, Jeannie is very excited to be a part of the Weichert, Realtors-Lake Realty "family” and to carry on the family profession as a Realtor®. Born and raised in the Apache Junction area, she graduated from Superstition Mountain Elementary School, Apache Junction Jr. High, and Apache Junction High School. Jeannie’s enthusiasm for life and this community shines through when you speak with her. And coming from a family of Realtors® who have also spent most of their lives in this area, she can’t help but be committed to her hometown.
Family and contributing to her community are very important aspects of Jeannie’s life. Her passion for her kids, Jordan, Michael and Luke, and anyone else’s kids, is evident as she uses her off time serving and ministering to teens. She says, “I am very active with the student ministries at my church where my husband, Ray, my kids and I spend most of our spare time.” Jeannie knows how to make these kids feel cared for and appreciated as they laugh, swim and eat together in her home. She also loves to read, play card games, bowl and if any opportunity to go to Disneyland presents itself, Jeannine will be the first one to hop on board.
Having lived in the East Valley most of her life, Jeannie is very entrenched in this community, so it is a natural fit for her to work with clients who want to buy or sell in the East Valley. Jeannie has already established herself as a top producing agent and loves helping people find their first, second or even their retirement home. If you are looking for an energetic agent with lots of local knowledge and experience, we hope you will give Jeannie a call.

Jim comes to Weichert, Realtors-Lake Realty after a 30-year sales career with Pitney Bowes where he retired from his position as National Account Sales Manager. After an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, Jim became a cost accountant at Union Carbide.

Joe Harrison
Although a native Kentuckian, Joe has always loved the state of Arizona. During his 33 years as Chief Financial Officer for the University of Kentucky Medical Center physician billing office, he made numerous business trips to Phoenix and Tucson. Joe says, “Each trip was a new and wonderful experience. I can’t imagine someone not being able to find something they love about Arizona.”
The one place he visited each and every trip was Tortilla Flats. This area of the Superstition Mountains caught his fancy and when he retired in 2005, he and his wife Reda purchased a home in Gold Canyon. As a new REALTOR® he hopes to share the magic of Gold Canyon and the Superstition Mountain area with others.
Joe is a “people-person” who will use his Southern hospitality to assist you in finding the perfect home for you and your family or in marketing your current home so others can experience life in this gorgeous area.
When not working for you, Joe spends his spare time fishing in the five lakes located in this area. He and Reda are active in their church and enjoy any activities involving people.

Keith Chapple
Arizona was fortunate to draw Keith away from the cooler California cities of San Jose and San Diego. Keith moved here to be closer to family, friends and work, and Weichert Realtors, Lake Realty is grateful that he made that decision. After moving to the Valley it didn’t take long for him to fall in love with the desert. He says, “I hope to help others see this great place the way I do, and fall in love with it for the first time, or all over again.”
The transition to Realtor is a natural fit for Keith. He started in the construction trades over 26 years ago and spent eight years as a Navy Sea Bee. After the navy, he went into facilities planning and architecture. For the last 10 years he has worked for home builders and commercial architects.
Keith has been married for 13 years to Heather and they have two great kids, Kerry and Nicolas. When he’s not working, Keith heads for the outdoors to enjoy walking in the desert parks. He also likes to get his adrenaline going by playing Paintball and studying traditional Ju-Jitsu.
Helping people is what really fulfills Keith and so he is committed to serving and giving back to the community. Through his church, Keith mentors teens, and works with homeless outreach programs.
This natural inclination to help people spills over into his working life. Keith finds great job satisfaction in helping people. And in Real Estate, that boils down to helping them with their basic needs; finding a home, or selling their home so they can move on to their next adventure. With his many years of experience around the building and housing market, Keith is knowledgeable and can assist you in making good, informed decisions about home buying and selling issues.
Helping people is just a part of who he is, so please give Keith a call and allow him to give you a hand.

Leysa Rought
Leysa, pronounced “Lisa,” lives in Winkelman, Arizona, where she moved to from San Diego. Even though she grew up in the big city, she wouldn’t trade the open, rural lifestyle she enjoys now.
Kids and animals are what family is about for Leysa. She has three nieces, three nephews and two great nieces that she adores. An important part of her family is of the four legged type: five dogs and three cats. Leysa says, “They are my four legged children.” All animal lovers can identify with that!
Previous to her real estate career, she worked as a certified veterinarian technician. She also owned an all natural soap and spa product business for four years.
When not working, Leysa likes to hike, camp, garden and ride horses. She also keeps herself busy with community involvement in her area. Leysa is part of the Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce, and also volunteers at St Vincent de Paul Society. Because she loves animals, her heart is open to animals in need and so she works with animal rescue.

Linda Morris
Not many people are natives of Arizona, but Linda comes awfully close. She moved here from Ohio with her parents when she was 3 years old. Linda is very familiar with our area and that benefits her in her real estate career. She has had a background in customer service areas prior to coming into real estate and has developed that oh-so important ability to listen to her client’s wishes and needs.
Linda graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching for 10 years, she switched careers, went back to school and earned her MBA.
With a servant’s heart, Linda gets involved with helping in her church and community. She is involved in the children’s ministry at her church, she’s a member of the Chaplaincy Support Team, which ministers to prisoners at the county jail, and she started a non-profit for divorced and/or widowed women.
One of Linda’s many hobbies will be a bonus for you when you are listing your home with her; she has a love for decorating and staging. Staging is a proven advantage to selling your home more quickly. Her other household hobbies include basic remodeling, embroidery and crafts. If she isn’t busy with those things, you might find her absorbed in a good book, or out on the trails hiking.

Rita Vehon
Rita came to Arizona from Wisconsin when her parents moved here in 1968. After high school she attended MCC and graduated with an AA. Ten years of her life were spent working in the hospital setting as a medical coder in the medical records department. Real Estate came into her life in 1993 when she married Tony. At the time he was an agent working for his parents, the founders of Lake Realty. He has since become owner/broker and has taken the company into this new world of technology and innovation.
After years of being a stay at home Mom, and having the last son soon to be graduating from high school, Rita decided to jump into the world of real estate. With Tony’s encouragement and knowledge as a supporting force, the decision was easy. Rita is passionate about working with clients to find them the home they long for. “It’s a truly rewarding experience to see the joy on the faces of clients who find and buy the home of their dreams,” she said.
Another passion of hers is writing. She has contributed articles to the local newspaper and the Gold Canyon Ledger. Rita is involved with support ministries within her church and also writes for the church’s online newsletter.
Rita takes her client’s cares and needs to heart. If you need to sell the home you love or don’t love so much anymore, you’ll have a diligent, supportive agent to help you find that buyer. “We want our clients to be happy whether they are selling their home or wanting to buy. It’s important to us to be there for you in your time of need,” she said.
Take a moment to call her and share what your real estate needs are. She’s excited to find a way to help you and give you the service you deserve.

Robert and Jeannette Lake
After having lost her husband, Larry Vehon, to cancer, Jeannette found herself in need of a way to support herself and her five children. Her late husband’s business partner urged her to take over Larry’s position in their Real Estate company. Being a visionary, Jeannette saw a lot of potential in the Apache Junction area and decided this was where she wanted to open shop. By early 1960, Jeannette (Vehon) Lake had opened Real Estate Investment Company in Apache Junction.
Jeannette married Bob Lake a few years later and he became an important part of what then became Lake Realty. Jeannette and Bob have sold many of the same properties in the area several times over the years and were busy in real estate before buildings and businesses started to dot the desert. The majority of sales in those days were vacant land since there was more land available to buy or sell than there were homes.
In 1994 their son, Tony Vehon, took over the office and became Owner/Broker. Tony bought into the Weichert, Realtors® franchise in 2007 and the company name was changed to Weichert, Realtors®-Lake Realty.
Bob and Jeannette became an intrinsic part of the community by serving on committees, boards and projects. Shelly Lovelady
Shelly came to Arizona in 1970 with her family when she was but a mere 5th grader. She was born in Leadville, Colorado, but spent her younger years in California. They put down roots in Apache Junction and Shelly came up through the AJ school system, graduating in 1978. While in a senior in high school, Shelly grabbed the opportunity to work at a bank half the day. She says,” When I finished school, I went full-time and loved it!” She worked as a banker for 13 years and the last 5 of those as an officer.
She moved on to work for Opportunity Village in Las Vegas, a non-profit organization for intellectually handicapped adults. Shelly worked in marketing for the thrift store which entailed organizing and running various charity events. She became proficient in working with individuals in the upper management of casinos in the area as she solicited their financial assistance to make successful fundraisers.
Shelly is married to Gary and they have a blended family consisting of her son Zach, 17 and Gary’s son Matthew, 18. Family is of utmost importance to Shelly and says, “My hardest, most challenging, and rewarding duty in life is being a mother.” As a single mother, having a job as a real estate agent allowed her to put her kindergartener on the bus and get him off when he came home. She says, “Now he drives himself to school, pays for his own gas & insurance and plans to go to college to become a teacher.” Success!
Being devoted to family you can see why her favorite pastime is laughing with her family. She also enjoys camping, fishing, dancing and traveling.
Patience is a major part of Shelly’s success. There are ups and downs in the real estate process and Shelly is a steady rudder in the turbulence. She will guide you through the hard parts with ease. Whether your family or clients, Shelly is always on your side, looking out for your best interest. Combine Shelly’s patient personality, her familiarity with the area, and knowledge of real estate an
